Workplace First Aid/Adult CPR Training for Lay Responders
Goodwill offers this course periodically throughout the year as we train our employees. Community members are welcome to join any class; however we cannot offer a regular schedule of classes. Classes are held during the week. They start at 9 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m. Classes can be created for groups of six or more and must take place at the Goodwill building.
Training meets OSHA Guidelines for First Aid Programs and combines lecture, interactive video demonstrations, featuring emergency scenarios that are likely to occur in a variety of environments, and hands-on training to teach participants lifesaving skills.
The course fee of $60 per person includes all training materials required by the American Red Cross. Upon successful completion of the course(s), participants are certified in First Aid and CPR by the American Red Cross for two years.
Our First Aid and Adult CPR training program certified 57 individuals in 2012. These people then served eight counties in 14 locations around Northwest Ohio. Many of those trained work for or volunteer with the Believe Center, a local nonprofit in Toledo.
American Red Cross standard training by a certified instructor.
