Two Goodwill Employees Working To Ensure Safety
Over the past year Goodwill has made significant strides in safety. In the month of November, two employees in particular have achieved major accomplishments related to safety. Goodwill would like to recognize Richard Rife and Noel Farmer for their dedication to making Goodwill safer.
Richard Rife, has been employed with Goodwill for more than four years. Currently he is associate director of the workforce development department, overseeing all aspects of the janitorial training program and is also a member of Goodwill’s safety committee. In November, Rife completed extensive training from the American Red Cross becoming a certified trainer of CPR and First Aid. This is important for Goodwill, as the organization will no longer be limited to how many employees can be trained to be certified CPR and First Aid responders. Rife will begin training Goodwill employees as soon as possible and is also excited about the possibility of offering this service to other agencies and businesses seeking certification for their own employees.
Noel Farmer is transportation manger at the Toledo transportation facility in the donated goods department. He voluntarily took, and funded, certification courses at the Safety Council of Northwest Ohio. Farmer has been with Goodwill for four years and is also a member to the Goodwill’s safety committee, showing a strong interest and commitment to safety practices. Farmer recently completed an intense, week-long certification course giving him the designation of COSS; Certified Occupational Safety Specialist.
With this new knowledge, Farmer is sure to be a valuable safety asset to Goodwill Industries.
Congratulations to both Richard Rife and Noel Farmer!
