Families Achieving Success Together is a new set of training programs designed to help individuals and their family members with personal development in job seeking skills, job retention and money management. All of these sessions are free!
Families Achieving Success Together is part of Goodwill’s family strengthening initiative and classes will be held every (Monday/Tuesday) at Goodwill’s training center which is located in the Goodwill store, 222 N. High St. Bryan, Ohio. All classes will be offered on an ongoing basis.
“Our goal is to help families become self-sufficient. We know that having employment can have a positive effect on an entire family,” says Goodwill’s workforce development director, Deborah Lagger.
The three classes are of varying length and duration. Job Seeking Skills encompasses three separate, two-hour sessions. The Job Retention training has two, two-hour sessions and Money Management is one session three hours in length. To enroll in any of the classes call toll-free 1-888-246-6394.
Nicole Losie-Brown, Goodwill’s regional education and community services specialist, teaches the Families Achieving Success Together classes. Brown has both a bachelor of arts degree in education, and a master of organization leadership degree, from Lourdes College, Sylvania, Ohio. She has worked as the assistant of Lourdes WIN Center (Windows for Intellectual Networking) where she arranged and conducted training workshops and has served as an adjunct instructor in language and literature. Brown has also taught developmental writing and study skills.
