Community benefits from First Aid Training
On December 1, Margaret Sosbe entered Goodwill history as the first person from the community to sign up for and attend our First Aid and CPR training. Since the mid 1990’s, we have provided this training to our staff from the Greater Toledo chapter of the American Red Cross. In 2009, Richard Losie-Margaret works as an Independent Home Healthcare Provider with her fiancé taking care of a handicapped woman in their home, which requires her to be certified in First Aid. Programs like hers help to keep individuals needing care from staying in nursing homes and allow them to be cared for at home.
She found our program online after the original class she signed up for was canceled. Goodwill was able to provide the required training, as well as adult CPR. She said, “The class was great and very helpful. I was amazed how much has changed since I was trained in High School. The new material was easy to understand and had more information than I remembered. I would definitely recommend this program to anyone.” Margaret was able to pass all the required tests and demonstrate the needed skills. She is now certified in First Aid and CPR for two years.
