Workforce Development Month-Celebrating 20 Years!

CELEBRATING 20 YEARS OF WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT MONTH

Created in 2005 by the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals (NAWDP), Workforce Development Month raises awareness about the importance of the workforce industry to a growing national economy. Originally celebrated in May, NAWDP moved the designation to September in 2012.

Throughout September, Goodwill Industries of NW Ohio is celebrating National Workforce Development Month, where states across the country recognize the contributions of workforce professionals and highlight events and initiatives that support job seekers and employers.

Goodwill Industries of NW Ohio is working to help people in our local community obtain the needed job skills and training to secure employment, obtain self-sufficiency and experience upward economic mobility. In 2024, the services at Goodwill Industries of NW Ohio served 9,114 people throughout NW Ohio with job training and job placement services.
